I studied Computer Science at university and have spent over 15 years at the intersection of business, data, and technology, including roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers and GoCardless, a leading fintech.Today, I’m a power user of AI, an exciting, fast-moving field. I make it my job to stay on top of what’s emerging, and where it’s starting to make a real difference for businesses.I was born and raised in North Wales, and after years working in London I moved back with my young family and set up here in Rhos-on-Sea.I’ve always been drawn to small, independently-run businesses, and I genuinely admire the people behind them. The Challenge

Lloyd runs a busy building firm in North Wales and, like many business owners, he’d heard about AI and was curious how it could help him save time and grow the business.

One of the first things we uncovered was that quoting and invoicing were eating up a lot of his time. With no admin support, these tasks often piled up until Friday, when Lloyd would spend a large chunk of the day on his laptop. That meant potential customers were left waiting, while delayed invoicing was affecting cashflow.

He needed a way to cut down the admin, free up his time, and keep the business moving while he was out on site.

The Solution

I worked with Lloyd face-to-face to put practical AI tools in place, nothing overcomplicated, just simple systems that work for him.

We set up a quoting workflow that lets him generate and send professional quotes in minutes, straight from his phone, using a quick email exchange with the AI.

For invoicing, we built a system fully connected to his accounting software, QuickBooks. Lloyd simply tells the AI what he wants via email, the system generates the invoice, he gives it a quick check, then asks the AI to send it. The customer receives the invoice directly from QuickBooks, no logins, no laptop.

And to help him win more work, we created a clean, simple website, set up his Google business profile with customer reviews, and launched new Facebook and Instagram pages so he can start showcasing his work.
